"Touching Hearts, Changing Lives"

How do I get to heaven?

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 10:9,10 “…If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 3:23 clearly shows us that all of mankind has sinned and falls short when it comes to God’s standard of righteousness, which is life without sin. That sin will send us to hell apart from salvation which comes only through Jesus Christ. Jesus came and willingly died to become the sacrifice for our sins. John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life“.

If you do not yet know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, it is important that you do so by inviting Him into your life and asking Him to forgive you of your sins by His blood which was shed for you. (His shed blood became the payment for your sins.) It will be the most important thing you do while on this earth. This life is but a vapor. We will spend the rest of eternity in either heaven or hell. The decision is yours.

It is important that you realize that you are not just saying words out of your mouth because you are afraid of hell. To become a Christian means you are submitting your life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. You are purposing to follow after Him. James 2:18 says, “…Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works“. Verse 20 says that “faith without works is dead“. Jesus wants not just our words asking Him to save us, but He wants our heart. He wants to come to live in us by His Spirit and to show us the way, the truth, and the life. To not follow after Him is sin, and could eventually cause us to lose the salvation He freely gives (2 Peter 2:20-22).

Matthew 13:44 says, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.” In other words, this man was willing to give up everything to obtain that one thing which was valuable to him. We must be willing to totally lay down our lives to follow Jesus. In turn, He gives us a life better than we could ever ask, think, or imagine. If you are ready to do that, please pray this prayer from your heart: Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned and am in need of a savior. I believe that you died for my sins. I ask you to come into my life and to wash away my sins. Make me a new person (2 Corinthians 5:17). Thank you for saving me. Amen.

If you prayed to begin a relationship with Jesus Christ, please contact us so that we can send you materials to help you get started in your walk with God. It is also important that you get hooked up in a good Bible-believing church. If you live near Harlan, we invite you to our church. Thank you and God bless you.
